Recognizing the Community Voice to Accompany and Learn Challenges in the ETA – IOTA Context, Nicaragua

Erica Martinez. Nicaragua

The narrative systematized in the ETA IOTA context shows a perception of tiredness, due to the different stressful situations experienced by the inhabitants of the Caribbean in the last year, taking into account the meaning and uncertainty experienced worldwide by the COVID 19 pandemic, the sadness of seeing their habitat desolate, remembrance of events such as Hurricane Felix, revive and resonate in memory, need to express and remove the tears contained, because the time has come for communion to rebuild and cherish hope.

This was how exercises were designed to measure, others were adapted to incorporate the imagery, the dance that recalled the journey of women and slaves from San Vicente to the Nicaraguan Caribbean lands, the work with the body, the earth, the fire, the water, with life itself in the diversity of the concurrence, which was generated in the accompanying sessions, it was about following what the group lived, felt and placed.

The proposal is summarized in an action refocused from an ecological point of view, in connection with the person as the center of the processes and actions in family, community, country and cosmos contexts from an intercultural perspective, based on dialogue, sensitive listening and recognition of the other. This incorporation allowed establishing a dialogue of knowledges, doings and wants as we learned in the voice of the community.
